Paper Title: Use Cases For Optimising Services Promoting Autonomous Mobility Of Elderly With Cognitive Impairments
Authors: Panou Maria, Bekiaris Evangelos, Touliou Katerina, Maria Fernanda Cabrera
Abstract: The number of elderly living with cognitive impairment is growing rapidly due to increasing life expectancy. IN LIFE is a new EC co-funded project that aims to prolong and support independent living for elderly with cognitive impairments, through interoperable, open, personalised and seamless ICT services that support autonomous living through every-day activities of such persons. Among the key targets of IN LIFE is to enhance the mobility and travel of those elderly by assessing their ability to drive with short, standardised means of assessment. At the first stage of the project life, structured use cases are being formulated, meeting the actual needs of different groups of elderly with cognitive impairments. In this paper, the use cases that are related to driving ability assessment are presented, along with their detailed parameters. This is achieved through the identification of the most urgent needs in driving assessment of older adults with cognitive impairments and matching project-proposed tools and services to them through the extraction of relevant, cost-efficient and inclusive use cases.
